What Is Cyber Stalking? Who Is More Likely to Be Cyber Stalked and How Should You Protect Yourself?

The phrase Cyber Stalking has been used in the media a lot recently and a 2011 study suggested it is 'now more common' than face-to-face stalking but what actually is cyber stalking?

There are a range of crime prevention measures you can follow to prevent becoming a victim. But first let's talk about what a cyber stalker does and who a cyber stalker really is...

Put simply cyber stalking is where an offender, let's call them Mr A. Creep uses technology such as facebook, email or mobile phones to stalk you. Mr A. Creep as a cyber stalker wont stalk you when you're going to the shops or out with friends, but they will stalk you while you are online. Research suggests that this can still cause serious psychological damage and is a major issue.

What Is Cyber Stalking? Who Is More Likely to Be Cyber Stalked and How Should You Protect Yourself?

In the majority of cases Mr A.Creep is actually somebody you know in some way and has decided to cyber stalk you for some reason.

Unfortunately when we use technology it leaves a digital footprint, which can include personal and financial information.Mr A. Creep will look for information to harass and intimidate their victim.

Five Quick Facts on Cyber Stalking

65% of victims are women. Women are more concerned about the risk of injury Men who were cyber stalked were more concerned about damage to reputation and financial loss 77% of women were stalked by someone they knew. Teenagers were most likely to be harassed on social network sites

Taken from a study by the University of Bedfordshire (Maple, Short and Brown, 2011)

Real life cyber stalking

The Guardian reported on the terrifying case of Joanne. Joanne visited a notice board, the cyber stalker knew this and added some personal details that she would see, things like email and phone number. Then comments about updates Joanne's children had posted on Facebook would appear. The next stage involved the cyber stalker making false allegations about Joanne and her husband, including that they were paedophiles and were involved in criminal activities at work.

Joanne contacted the police, who failed to take it seriously Joanne stated he put us through hell. It was terrifying. One Monday I got up and I couldn't do anything but cry. I thought he was going to kill me.

Physical attacks on Joanne's car began, at this stage the offender was arrested and charged with harassment - the stalker was a casual acquaintance with a grudge.

What to do if you are worried about cyber stalking

Contact the police and save any evidence you may have such as texts, emails, Facebook messages and screenshots. Being cyber stalked could make you feel more vulnerable when going about your offline life. Stalking prevention products such as personal alarms, electronic peephole viewers or CCTV that can be viewed on your smartphone could help you feel more comfortable when you're out and about. Contact one of the main stalking support groups that offer great help and advice if you feel like you're being cyber stalked. If you feel uncomfortable with someone and think you may be a victim of stalking follow the

Six Ways to protect yourself from cyber stalking

1. Protect yourself using Google alerts. Enter your name, email, phone number or any other information you wish to monitor into Google Alerts. Once an alert is set up you will receive alert emails for new mentions of these details when they appear on the internet.

2. Buy a voice recorder to record threatening voice mails or phone conversations.

3. Invest in a USB memory stick to back up important information in case your cyber stalker gains access to your computer.

4. Buy anti-spyware software, this is different to anti-virus software.

5. Shredding your paper documents is also an effective way of making sure no private information can be gained by your cyber stalker.

6. For added security invest in the best personal alarms or the first personal security app that has gained 'Police Preferred Specification'.

Don't be a victim of cyber stalking, there is crime prevention help out there.

Top Ten Places to Visit in Germany

If you're looking for a place that's rich with remnants of the recent past, then Germany's the place for you. As you may well know, Germany was a key player in the previous world wars. Thus, it filled Germany with monuments to the stories of our grandfathers about times long past but never forgotten.

1.) Berlin Wall

There's no other place in Germany that's more suffused with charged up emotions than the Berlin Wall. You can just imagine the tears and the blood shed over this very wall. This remnant of the wars stands as one of the greatest monuments to democracy known to man - a sign that freedom will always come out victorious.

Top Ten Places to Visit in Germany

2.) The Romantic Road

Driving through the Romantic road would be one of the most pleasant drives you'll experience in your whole life. This road is flanked by scenic landscapes on both sides. Occasionally, you'll pass through a picturesque town, a beautiful gothic church, and sometimes, a quaint countryside inn.

3.) Augsburg

Passing through the Romantic Road will lead you to Augsburg, a town founded by the Roman Legions and named after the esteemed Roman emperor, Augustus. This picturesque town contains such historical places as St. Anne's Church, the place where Martin Luther took refuge, and Dom, a very unusual Cathedral. You can also find here the Renaissance Golden Room, a sight that will make you squint with its shine.

4.) Neuschwanstein Castle

Did you know that Walt Disney used a castle found in Germany as his inspiration for the castle of Sleeping Beauty? It's true, those alabaster walls and those high towers and wide parapets were all based on the Neuschwanstein Castle. It is now hailed as one of the most popular tourist spots in Germany.

5.) The Castles of Fussen

Like most of Europe, several castles are littered throughout Germany. It contains the other two of Ludwig's castles, the first one being the Neuschwanstein Castle. This is a must-see for all those families who are traveling through Germany because the place literally looks like it's been torn out of a storybook.

6.) Lake Constance

Lake Constance is both a tourist spot and an essential source of life for the Germans. Several areas in the country rely on this very lake for their drinking water, and this large lake is also a great place to swim and to go bird watching. Indeed, if you're one for beautiful natural sceneries, then Lake Constance is not to be ignored.

7.) The Black Forest

The name looks like it has been taken from one of the fairy tales, doesn't it? The Black Forest - it sounds like a place where evil witches reside and cursed trees grow, but don't let that deter you though. If anything, the Black Forest can hardly be related to its name as it's a sunny forest with tall and sturdy firs. It's a great place to go hiking and a great place for picnics.

8.) Cologne

When you hear the word, Cologne, what comes into your mind? A beautiful fragrance, right? Well, meet the town that's called Cologne for a reason, and indeed, the town of Cologne has its own peculiar fragrance that's very pleasing to the nose. Also, there you will find a beautiful view of the River Rhine and the Cologne Cathedral.

9.) Dachau

Take a break from the fairytale castles and mystical forests and go to the place called Dachau. Dachau is a concentration camp - a remnant of Germany's dark past where you can just imagine the horrors that took place in this very spot. However, you will also find there a statue bearing the inscription, "Never Again", a solemn promise of the German people that they will 'never again' commit such unspeakable acts - another true victory for peace.

10.) Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest - technically, it's not a place, but it's just too good a festival to leave out of any 'top ten list' that concerns tourism and Germany. This fun-filled festival in the town of Bavaria is guaranteed to leave you intoxicated and euphoric. You can spend days on end just drinking authentic German Ale and just letting yourself loose.

The Top 10 Secrets From Anthony Robbins

For more than 25 years US-based motivational speaker and success coach Anthony Robbins has been passionately pursuing the answers to questions such as 'What shapes human behaviour? And how can we create lasting change
within oursleves and others?'.

He has spoken in front of more than 3 million people around the world and sold around 35 million books and audio coaching products.

After attending his 4-day 'Unleash The Power Within' seminar recently in Kuala Lumpur I learnt many strategies to perform at your best.

The Top 10 Secrets From Anthony Robbins

I even took part in his famous barefoot walk over hot coals. This powerful physical metaphor shows how anyone can overcome their deepest and greatest fears with focus, passion and desire.

Part rock concert, part learning experience, part aerobic workout, the seminar was attended by more than 4,000 people in a giant indoor sporting stadium that was built for the Commonwealth Games.

Standing 6'7", weighing 265 lbs and with a shoe size of 16, Robbins was impressive on stage as he harnessed the energy of the crowd.

In fact, security guards have to line the stage as he is regularly swamped by over eager fans.

At 43 years old, he has been enormously successful and worked with people like President Clinton and Nelson Mandela.

What was it like?

Hot, humid, high energy and simple take home messages packaged with a high-tech light, sound and video show.

I was impressed, motivated and got some great ideas from it.

Here is my gift to you. The Top 10 Secrets of Success I learnt from spending 4 days with Tony Robbins.

1. YOUR POTENTIAL IS DETERMINED (OR LIMITED) BY YOUR SELF-BELIEF.

As the promotional material says the event was 'about creating breakthroughs, moving beyond fears and limiting beliefs, accomplishing goals and realizing true desires, turning dreams into reality, creating fulfilling relationships, and modeling the strategies of peak performers to produce a quantum difference in your life.'

If you cut out the hype, the simple message is if you believe in yourself enough you can achieve anything.

A memorable one-liner was "the only thing that's keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself".

2. MOST PEOPLE HAVE SELF-DOUBT AROUND UNIVERSAL THEMES.

Ask anyone and most people will admit they lack confidence in some areas of their life. The interesting thing I learnt from this seminar is that this self-doubt is around universal themes. These themes cross age, gender, religious, cultural and language barriers.

Common doubts include 'I am not good enough', 'I am lazy' and 'No-one loves me'.

3. YOU CAN LEARN MECHANISMS TO ELIMINATE SELF-DOUBT.

Robbins calls it 'immersion' where you break old patterns and build new ones by repetition. He uses a lot of Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques to achieve this with his audiences.

He says "progress is not automatic".

A memorable moment in the seminar was when we had to visualize ourselves inside a bubble and inside that bubble was a series of videotapes neatly arranged in a time-line that represented all our memories in our lives so far. We had to pull out the negative videotapes and destroy them. This was followed by time spent visualising the future and how your life will look 10 and 20 years from now.

4. BELIEF IMPACTS ON MANY LEVELS.

The Robbins message was that 3 things shape our self-belief. He calls them the Triad. These are our patterns of physiology, focus and language or meaning.

He highlighted this with the quote: "where focus goes energy flows".

5. OUR VALUES AND BELIEFS SHAPE OUR ACTIONS.

Robbins believes you can "vanquish whatever is holding you back from taking action".

Walking barefoot across a bed of glowing coals is the physical metaphor he uses in his seminars to prove this point to the skeptics.

Eliminate negative self-belief and take massive action are his keys to success.

6. TO CREATE POSITIVE OUTCOMES YOU MUST TAKE MASSIVE ACTION.

"Where focus goes energy flows" is a quote used by Robbins in his presentation to highlight why you need to know your outcome and why achieving this is a must.

But many people fail to take the next step. They delay, put off and find many reasons or excuses not to act.

Robbins believes "progress is not automatic" and "action is power". Take action, even if it is the wrong action. He says it is "never a failure if you learn something".

7. MATCHING & MIRRORING CREATES CONNECTION, TRUST & EMPATHY.

Robbins spent a fair amount of time in the seminar talking about and demonstrating interpersonal communication skills.

He used people from the audience to show how the process of "matching and mirroring" the non-verbal communication and body language of others can be a very powerful way to connect with people.

In essence, you create rapport by adopting the body language of the person you are communicating with.

He believes "rapport is power" and "total responsiveness is created by a feeling of commonality".

If you have learnt these techniques before and haven't used them for a while, I suggest it is time to dust them off and put them into action next time you are communicating with someone on a one-to-one basis.

8. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU FOCUS ON PASSION AND PURPOSE.

Robbins believes that "to have an extraordinary quality of life you need two skills: the science of achievement (the ability to take anything you envision and make it real) and the art of fulfilment (this allows you to enjoy every moment of it)."

He says "success without fulfilment is failure".

Find your passion and purpose in life. My purpose is to make a difference in people's lives and use my gift as a speaker.

9. MODEL YOURSELF ON OTHER ACHIEVERS.

To gain improvements quickly and step up to a new level of achievement, Robbins believes learning from others who are the best in their field is the fastest way to achieve success.

He told the story of how he wanted to improve his tennis game and so employed Andre Agassi, the then number one ranked player to help him achieve this.

Who could you model yourself on?

"People's lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group," according to Robbins.

10. SUCCESS IS BUILT ON A HEALTHY, HIGH ENERGY BODY, HEART AND MIND

If you are not healthy - all of the above points are a waste of time.

Your health is determined and influenced by your lifestyle.

One major change I've made since the seminar is to eat a healthier diet and exercise more regularly.

As a speaker, my whole business depends on my ability to perform at a peak state. Like any professional athlete, the success of business is directly linked to my diet and health.

Take care of yourself, your body is ultimately your most important asset.

Top 10 Meeting Ice Breakers

Getting people comfortable in a group setting before a team meeting can be the best investment of ten to 15 minutes of time that you can make. Ice breakers get creative juices flowing, can increase the exchange of ideas, establish team identity, and create a sense of community. All of these items are important in forging top productive teams. But how do you get people to participate and not feel uncomfortable with an ice breaker?

For meetings in a business setting in which participants are professionals, ice breakers that require actions not normally associated with day-to-day behaviors in the office generally make people uncomfortable. Successful ice breakers for these type of groups generally consist of having attendees share memorable information with each other, create innovative ways to get people to introduce themselves to each other, or have group members collectively work on a problem where everyone has to contribute.

We've selected our top ten team meeting ice breakers that are sure to get your meeting participants relaxed and ready to focus on your agenda as well as to connect with others in the group.

Top 10 Meeting Ice Breakers

1. Brainstorm!:Break the meeting into teams of four or five. Give each team a topic. Pick topics that are fun and simple like, "What would you take on a trip to the desert?" or "List things that are purple". Give your teams two minutes, no more, and tell them "This is a contest and the team with the most items on their list wins." Encourage the teams to write down as many things as they can and not to discuss anything, just list things as quickly as possible. At the end of two minutes, the team with the most items on their list wins! This helps people to share ideas without fearing what other people will think.

2. Same or Different:

Divide the meeting into teams of three or four and give each team a large sheet of paper and then give each person a different colored marker. Have each person draw a large oval such that each oval overlaps with the other ovals in the center of the piece of paper. Give the group or groups, a theme that pertains to your meeting objectives. Ask the participants to write down at least five or more entries in the non-overlapping and mutually overlapping areas of their ovals. Give them five minutes, no more than that, to talk about their similarities and differences and write them in their own ovals on the paper. If there is more than one group, compare results and identify common themes in both parts of the diagrams and what light these similarities and differences shed on the purpose of the meeting. This helps team members develop an understanding of shared objectives and in a non-confrontational way learn how their views differ from others in the group.

3. Fact or Fiction:

Have everyone write down three surprising things about themselves, two of which are true, and one of which is made up. Each person, in turn, reads their list and then the rest of the group votes on which "fact" they feel is the "false" one. If the group does not correctly pick a person's made up "fact", then that person wins. A group can have more than one winner. At the end, the whole group votes on which of the "winners" of the final round, had the most deceiving "fact". This helps people get to know and remember their colleagues.

4. Free Association:

The object of this ice breaker is to have small groups generate as many words or phrases as they can that are related to a particular topic that focuses on the objective of your meeting. Give the group or groups a key word you want them to associate with and then give them two minutes to list, as quickly as possible, as many words or thoughts that pop into their heads. For example, if your company is trying to decide on whether to reduce travel and increase the use of teleconferencing, you might use the word "teleconferencing" and have people list as many words or phrases they can that they associate with the key word. For example they might say: "saves money", "saves time", "impersonal", "need to see other people", "get distracted", "sound quality".... This reveals what people are thinking, similarities in viewpoints, and possibly even problem areas or topics that need addressing or further discussion.

5. Nametags:

Prepare nametags for each person and put them in a box. As people walk into the room, each person picks a nametag (not their own). When everyone is present, participants are told to find the person whose nametag they drew and introduce and say a few interesting things about themselves. When everyone has their own nametag, each person in the group will introduce the person whose nametag they were initially given and mention something of interest about that person. This helps participants get to know and remember each other.

6. Desert Island:

Group people in teams of five or six and tell them they will be marooned on a desert island. Give them 30 seconds to list all the things they think they should take and each person has to contribute at least three items. At the end of 30 seconds, tell the teams they can only take three things. Have the person who suggested each item on the list tell why they suggested it and defend why their item should be one of the chosen three. This helps the team learn about how each of them thinks, get to know each other's values, and how they solve problems.

7. Commonality Plus:

Group your meeting participants at tables. At each table ask the group to list ten ways that everyone in that group is similar. Let them know that they cannot list body parts or clothing and that what they select cannot have anything to do with work. One person at the table should be tasked to make their list. At the end of your time limit have the group share their list with all meeting members. This is a great opportunity for your meeting attendees to learn about each other's hobbies, families, and common interests.

8. Line Up:

As people enter your meeting hand each one a piece of paper with a different number written on it. Ask the group to arrange themselves in numeric order without using their voices, hands, or showing their number. This helps the team to think of other ways to communicate with each other and to work together to achieve a common goal.

9. Meet and Greet Shoe Pile:

This works great in large groups and is a variation of the name tag ice breaker. Have everyone take off one of their shoes and throw it into a pile. Have each group member pick up a shoe and walk around the meeting room greeting other people as they try to match their selected shoe to the one another team member is wearing. This is a great way for new people to meet several members in a group.

10. First or Worst:

Have each member tell the group their first or worst job in turn. This easy to use ice breaker works great with teleconferences too and allows team members to spark conversation with each other and to have some fun commenting on the jobs that they have each done. Many of our top ten ice breakers can be used for on-site meetings and teleconferences alike. The nature of ice breakers is to get the group to talk, to share, and to get to know each other in a casual exchange. The best and most successful teams start with a little bit of fun; learning how to value what each member brings into the group. Ice breakers can help facilitate this exchange of information and comfort in doing so at the very start of the team forging process.

Cyber-Theft is the use of computers and communication systems to steal information in electronic format. Hackers crack into the systems of banks and transfer money into their own bank accounts. This is a major concern, as larger amounts of money can be stolen and illegally transferred.

Many newsletters on the internet provide the investors with free advice recommending stocks where they should invest. Sometimes these recommendations are totally bogus and cause loss to the investors. Credit card fraud is also very common.

Most of the companies and banks don't reveal that they have been the victims of cyber -theft because of the fear of losing customers and share holders. Cyber-theft is the most common and the most reported of all cyber-crimes. Cyber-theft is a popular cyber-crime because it can quickly bring experienced cyber-criminal large cash resulting from very little effort. Furthermore, there is little chance a professional cyber-criminal will be apprehended by law enforcement.

Viruses and worms:

Viruses and worms is a very major threat to normal users and companies. Viruses are computer programs that are designed to damage computers. It is named virus because it spreads from one computer to another like a biological virus. A virus must be attached to some other program or documents through which it enters the computer. A worm usually exploits loop holes in soft wares or the operating system. Trojan horse is dicey. It appears to do one thing but does something else. The system may accept it as one thing. Upon execution, it may release a virus, worm or logic bomb. A logic bomb is an attack triggered by an event, like computer clock reaching a certain date. Chernobyl and Melissa viruses are the recent examples.

Experts estimate that the Mydoom worm infected approximately a quarter-million computers in a single day in January 2004. Back in March 1999, the Melissa virus was so powerful that it forced Microsoft and a number of other very large companies to completely turn off their e-mail systems until the virus could be contained.

Solutions:

An important question arises that how can these crimes be prevented. A number of techniques and solutions have been presented but the problems still exists and are increasing day by day.

Antivirus And Anti spyware Software:

Аntivirus software consists of computer programs that attempt to identify, thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software. Anti spy wares are used to restrict backdoor program, trojans and other spy wares to be installed on the computer.

Firewalls:

A firewall protects a computer network from unauthorized access. Network firewalls may be hardware devices, software programs, or a combination of the two. A network firewall typically guards an internal computer network against malicious access from outside the network.

Cryptography:

Cryptography is the science of encrypting and decrypting information. Encryption is like sending a postal mail to another party with a lock code on the envelope which is known only to the sender and the recipient. A number of cryptographic methods have been developed and some of them are still not cracked.

Cyber Ethics and Laws:

Cyber ethics and cyber laws are also being formulated to stop cyber crimes. It is a responsibility of every individual to follow cyber ethics and cyber laws so that the increasing cyber crimes shall reduce. Security softwares like anti viruses and anti spy wares should be installed on all computers, in order to remain secure from cyber crimes. Internet Service Providers should also provide high level of security at their servers in order to keep their clients secure from all types of viruses and mallicious programs.

The Influence Of The Internet On People's Social And Psychological Realities

The influence of the Internet has caused a change in the way we communicate, learn and shop.

The Internet is probably most famous for the ability to spread information, fact or fiction. We were once limited to news editors of a local paper, then to national cable news. Now anyone can search the globe, visit local papers in foreign countries, and see the views of all sides. This ease of information has also brought with it a large amount of hoaxes, money schemes, and fallacies.

There is no question that easy access to the Internet, like the introduction of mail service and the invention of the telephone, has changed the nature of people's connection to others in their social world. Mail made possible connections among people without physical proximity, and the telephone facilitated communication among distant people, making rapid connections possible across long distances.

The Influence Of The Internet On People's Social And Psychological Realities

But has this communication revolution changed the pure nature of interpersonal and group processes?

On the one hand, since the primary use of the Internet is communication, some people might speculate that the Internet will have positive social consequences in people's everyday lives because it increases the frequency and quality of interpersonal communications among people. People with easy access to others would feel better connected and more strongly supported by others, leading to happiness and engagement in families, organizations, communities, and society more generally.

But, on the other hand, the ease of electronic communication may lead to weaker social ties, because people have less reason to leave their homes and actually interact face to face with other people. The Internet allows people to more easily work from their home, to form and sustain friendships and even romantic attachments from their home, to bank from their home, to vote and engage in political and social issue based discussions with others (from home).

In this variety of ways, Internet communications can potentially displace face-to-face communications. I think this point is important because psychologists in many researches have described and proved such face to face and telephone connections as being of higher quality, when viewed in terms of their contribution to satisfaction and well-being.
Reading a series of longitudinal and experimental studies (e.x. McKenna, Green, and Gleason), who test a theory of relationship formation on the Internet, these researchers directly address the argument that the psychological quality of Internet social interaction is lower than is the psychological quality of traditional face-to-face interaction.

Consider my own use. I've received several e-mail messages in the past hour. My boyfriend confirms the dinner for tonight. Even though it is weekend, my colleagues send me questions about the pending exam expects a quick answer. So does some graduate student from Europe, that I recently met on "MySpace" with an urgent request for a letter of recommendation. My friend Ksenija sends me an IM to tell me the latest news about her new love. And so on and so on...

I assume that I am also living a virtual life, and what's the most interesting of all, all of my friends online, are also my friends in real life. And if they weren't that in the past, I somehow managed to bring my cyber friends into my real life, so I could here in my real life enable real communication, real face-to-face "talks", real exchange of emotions, feelings of happiness, satisfaction and well-being. I'd say for me, the Internet is a great new way for doing old things.

So, what else conclusion can I bring except the one that Internet life cannot stand on itself without real-life communication. It is simple: If we understand the qualities of face-to-face communication that influence the impact of such communication on people and their social interaction, we would be able to predict the probable influence of any new communication technology. However, researchers show that people sooner or later convert their cyber contacts into more traditional face-to-face, the same as I do. People use the Internet, in other words to help them achieve their real-life goals. And rather than technology's changing people's social and psychological reality, in other words, people change their use of technology to facilitate their creation of a desired social reality.
Internet users should closely examine their behavior, to ensure that excessive time online will not negatively impact their personal well-being. We shouldn't throw our computers out the window, but neither should we charge on blindly into complete dependence on the Internet. As with many things in life, it seems that moderation and balance are key to maximizing the Internet's positive effect.

Cyber Monday Apple MacBook Deals and Bargains

Cyber Monday is a term that many shoppers are familiar, but some people aren't aware what it exactly is. Cyber Monday falls on the Monday immediately after Black Friday, and it is typically a day devoted to massive savings on electronics online. With Apple having more phenomenal products than ever, we are hoping to see some big savings on Apple products for this day. While there are many retailers that will have Apple deals on Cyber Monday, Apple often has the best deals on their own website.

Another retailer that is known for their impressive deals is Best Buy. In the past Best Buy has offered up to off every single iPod, which as you may or may not know, is a rare sight in the electronics world. In past years, Best Buy has offered large savings on multiple HD monitors, which can be the perfect item to use in conjunction with an Apple product such as a MacBook Pro. Many customers do not fully utilize the capability of using dual monitors, but with great savings on monitors this Cyber Monday, it's a great time to start using two displays.

Apple has offered free shipping on all their Cyber Monday MacBook deals in the past. While free shipping isn't as nice as a big 50% off sale, it is still a nice deal. Quite often customers end up paying far more than they were expecting to due to additional shipping charges. With free shipping you will know whether or not you have enough money before you go to checkout.

Another retailer to check out this time round is Staples. While Staples is often associated purely with office supplies, they also offer a multitude of products aimed at consumers such as ourselves. Staples has dropped the price of iPods in the past, and all signs are pointing towards this occurring again on this Cyber Monday.

If you still haven't decided on where to find cheap Apple deals yet, it can't hurt to check out all three of the aforementioned retailers. With online shopping it is very simple to visit all three businesses.

What is a Blog and How Does it Work?

Blogs are now an integral part of the Internet world. Whenever we hear the word blog we know that it is something related to new technology, but the question arises, what is a blog?

Blog are online journals. They are used as short form of web logs which means a list of writings on the Internet. When all the writing is combined together to give it a look like a small website it is called a blog. A blog can be comprised of news, articles, personal diary pages, pictures, audios, video, company information, product to be sold, their advertisement and the list is endless.

There is one thing that you will see commonly in every blog and that is a chronological orders where the newer post (the content written in blog) appears in the front pages. Basically the fresh post will be above the last post that you have written. The basic purpose of doing so is to make readers acquainted with the updated content. Then, there is the archive list from where reader can go to the desired post as well.

What is a Blog and How Does it Work?

How does a blog work?

The basic working of a blog starts from the content management system used to create that particular blog. This is where a blogger creates, designs, manages posts, manages comment and experiments with the blog. Basically this is the place where blog gets it's look. There are also other popular online interfaces like Wordpress, Blogger, etc. which give menu driven options to the user, but the basic functioning, is the same.  That is to help bloggers to mange blogs.

A blog gets its look through coding languages like HTML, PHP and CSS, but generally bloggers don't have to go into these details as the content management system or the online interface give bloggers preset themes that are menu driven and can be designed as well edited easily.

These online interfaces give blogs their original themes, but these can be changed through other theme codes that are freely available on the Internet. These websites or other blogs provide theme templates and show you the demo version so it's easier for you to choose and decide the type of look one wants for the blog. These themes are divided into various columns to make the appearance good and easy to surf. There are also some major inbuilt functions like an archive list, place to show author's profile, option of receiving comments, labels for the post and options to show a popular or recent posts.

For blogs to work, the writer has to choose a proper subject and then write blog posts accordingly.

Top Ten Tips To Reduce Redness On Cheeks

Redness on the cheeks can often be uncomfortable and often embarrassing. Some people are born with a "peaches and cream" complexion which means that their natural skin tone contrasts heavily with the blood vessels in the face - causing a more prominent redness.

However, there are plenty of ways to avoid or significantly reduce the redness on your cheeks by following these 10 simple yet effective tips.

They work because I tried them all myself and many people who I have spoken to who also suffer from facial redness have also tried these techniques out and would agree.

Top Ten Tips To Reduce Redness On Cheeks

1. Exercise daily for at least 30 mins
Exercise is a proven method to regulate the blood pressure and flow in our bodies along with a reduction in stress levels which can also lead to aggravated redness in the cheeks. It also helps to eliminate excess unused energy which can also trigger blushing and facial redness.

2. Drink plenty of water
This works for me, it helps to keep the general body temperature down and is something anxiety sufferers are told to do as part of their recovery plan. Try to drink at least a few pints a day or more if you can. I know it's not glamorous but hey, it really does help.

3. Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a really good way to relax and control our body and mind in one. If you can train your mind and body to act and react in an appropriate way, you will certainly notice a reduction in the severity of blushing, redness and even sweating among many other similar problems.

4. Relaxation in general
Giving you time to relax each day will work wonders for your blood pressure, stress levels and general health. Having a generally red face doesn't mean you are unhealthy but if you find that your redness comes and goes often it could be a sign that your body isn't happy with the way you're driving it. Try it.

5. Reduce stress
Again, reducing stress via all the previous points can be detrimental to the reduction of redness in your face, the anxiety that surrounds it and the likelihood that it will continue to get worse.

6. Cosmetics
Whilst working all of the above points into your life 9and it will take time for them to become habitual) you could try using some good cosmetics to help cover the redness until you feel more comfortable in public places etc. There are some good cosmetics, and there are some bad ones. Visit http://www.facialredness.co.uk for more details on which ones work the best for your money.

7. Avoid hot or spicy foods
Its almost common sense that hot drinks or hot and spicy food can trigger a red face and a heavy sweat for a huge number of people. Try to avoid extremities here but don't sacrifice the things you love just because your cheeks have a tendency to go red once in a while!

8. Avoid caffeine
Caffeine is a terrible cause of facial flushing and redness in general around the face. Try to cut it out as much as possible as it literally dehydrates your body and the tiredness as a result can cause redness, flushing and hot flashes.

9. Don't smoke
Similar to caffeine, cigarettes dehydrate the body and have the very same side effects. Drink more water if giving up smoking is difficult but obviously do make an effort to give up smoking whenever you can.

10. Don't become self conscious
The worst thing you can do is start to worry about the way your face looks. I accept that you may want to reduce the severity of the redness but don't let it stop you from living the life you deserve.

Conclusion

I hope this article helped you gain hope about the possibility of reducing redness on the cheeks or in fact anywhere on your face or neck.
